Moldavite

Slightly curved moldavite with a smooth texture.

15 million years ago a meteorite just over half a mile wide impacted earth in what is now Germany. Instantly, surrounding rocks melted and those glassy fragments were ejected into the atmosphere up to 125 miles high and distances of 280 miles away.  Most of them landed (after being transformed into aerodynamic shapes) in what is now the Czech Republic.
