Preseli Bluestone palms from the same quarry in the Preseli mountains in Wales as the original stones that make up the inner circle of Stonehenge. 5,000 years ago Preseli Bluestone was transported 140 miles to the Stonehenge site. Scientists are still unsure how they were transported, given their weight. It was only in 2015 that archaeologists discovered the exact quart where the stones were extracted. The quarry is in a national park but part of it extends onto farmland. The nephew of the vendor I sourced from hand collected the stones. You have to know the farmers to get permission to access the Preseli bluestone.
