Self Healed Mont Blanc Smoky Quartz

I was drawn to this piece because the top point looks to have broken away from the rest of the piece at one point in time and then re-healed itself back on. With the underside also being completed self healed, this is an exquisite example of Mont Blanc self healing. A large rainbow pops out on the front and another in the termination. Completely unpolished.
Found by a small group of "crystalliers" from Chamonix, France. They embark on week long journeys into the Mont Blanc massif mountain range in the French Alps. Highly skilled rock climbers, they are seasoned crystal hunters as well. Mechanical equipment and explosives are forbidden in this area of the French Alps. Everything is brought down by hand!
